Most people think about their looks when they get dressed, but some people think about luck. Thats correct: Some people are superstitious about the clothing they wear as well as the accessories they use.
Some clothing and accessories are said to bring bad luck. Umbrellas were designed to protect people from bad weather. Since it doesnt rain inside a home, its thought to be unlucky to open an umbrella indoors. Some even think you might lose your house if you do so. Likewise, many people feel its unlucky to wear a hat indoors, and some say you will get a headache. Another superstition claims that if you leave a hat on a bed or a table, there will be an argument in the house. But umbrellas and hats arent the only things to be careful with. Some say that if you put your purse on the ground, you will remain poor or become broke.
Its not all about bad luck, though. An old superstition says that a bride will have a happy marriage if, at her wedding, she wears something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue. Many brides still follow this superstition. But luck from clothing doesnt just happen for weddings. For example, its claimed that its lucky if you accidentally put clothing on inside out. But be sure to keep your clothes on inside out to stay lucky! Others say wearing the color purple is lucky. Its the color of royalty and could bring you wealth.
You may or may not think these superstitions are credible, but they are easy to follow if you dont want to take any chances with your luck.
